Some More GP Tradition

Okay, another crazy GP tradition that had us falling out of our chairs last night. What we knew as the GP Boy's Beauty Pageant is now the "Miss Glamorous Galena Beauty Pageant" and our Bubba was a participant. Oh, yes, Bubba was Gypsy Rose Lee! These guys really put on a good show...just take a look at the slide show!

The boys also wrote short biographies for the program. August's was as follows:

Contestant #9, Gypsy Rose Lee. Gypsy is from Chickenheadville, Vermont. She likes milking her cat and collecting Star Wars action figures. She also likes to look under rocks for worms and eating potato chips. She also enjoys watching the Amanda Bynes Show.

Some other funny ones:

Caramel Barbie (the winner by the way) from Hugh Jass, Texas. Say it out loud!

Daisy Duke from Pinkville, Texas. She likes to line dance, knit and pick corn. Her hobbies consist of hanging out with her boyfriend (cousin Billy Joe) and his pet goat, Wilson. In her free time she loves to eat sunshine crackers with ketchup and cheese. Her number one favorite thing is picking at her brother's lice.

Okay, on with the show!

Smart Girl!

Not only is our baby girl pretty...she's smart too! Jacque was just informed she will be inducted into the Honor Society! She thinks it isn't all that big of a deal but we are very proud of her! Big sister gets the photo credit on this wonderful pic of her sister.

First Day of School

Okay, so, no...it's not the first day of school. That was 6 weeks ago, but ever the procrastinator, I am just now posting this. For me, the first day of school is always hard. We always enjoy our time off from school...it's especially tough when we have a senior in the house. See that big guy in the middle...yep, he's our senior. Now, this picture taking deal is something we do every year. It's a tradition here as I am sure it is for most of you. This might possibly be the worst "first day of school" pic I've ever taken. Now, why is that? Seems my senior wanted to go out with a few of his friends to wrap the school, said he had senioritis. HA! Senioritis? I said...it's not allowed until around March or April...no, YOU are not going. But mom, all my friends are going, their parents are letting them. Hmmm, maybe I should call them? Yeah, right, mom. So this went on until 2:00 A.M. until I finally decided to confiscate the phone. I'm assuming the friends were sneaking out. My kids have a little bit of a hard time with that cuz their mom stays up until 1:00, or 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning! Well, as you can see in the photo, he's putting on a pretty brave front. Wants his phone back, doesn't he? He actually reminded me about pictures, sweet little boy that he is. I'm grateful for that because I can assure you the last thing that was on my mind was taking a picture. So, here we have it, last first day of school picture of my oldest son. Of course, I can follow him off to college with a camera...
