We have another high school graduate in our midst. Our very own Bubba! You might say that lately this blog has kind of been an "all about Bubba" blog. I suppose it
IS because I know our little boy is growing up. I think it would be safe to say that it makes me a little melancholy. We've had a great time this year...Friday night football, the baseball games, the boy's beauty pageant, the school play, livestock shows, road trips, skiing, pigs, cows and baby calfs. August has definitely had a wonderful senior year. I know he is glad to be done with high school and on to the next phase in his life but for me, well, yeah, I'm a little sad! I wanted to share the senior yearbook ad I put together for him. There's a little story that goes along with it...naturally, lol! When August was a little boy I would read a book or two at naptime to he, Jacque and Leighton. The two little ones would drift off to sleep but August always wanted "just one more story, Mommy?" So, I began to make up stories about a little boy named August. The "make believe" August went on many adventures and August loved the stories I told him. When I started gathering photos for his ad I decided to incorporate that memory. This is what I came up with: (click on the photo for a better view!)

And a few pictures of graduation:
As they all marched in I immediately started to get teary eyed. And then...I noticed that August had not tightened his tie. For heaven's sake boy, button that top button! Not to worry, I ran down the aisle and shouted it out to him. I'm sure he loved that!

I couldn't help getting choked up when the kids joined hands and sang the school song. Why? Well, it might be because this is MY school song too. You see, David and I both attended Galena Park High School. Or it might be that I remember when most of these kids were in kindergarten, or junior high and I wonder how time went by so quickly. Or it might just be because I like to hold hands and holding hands with your friends and singing your school song on this day of great accomplishment is just more than I can handle. :-)

Yeah, you might just say we are all just a little proud...

Reach for the moon Bubba, if you miss you will land amongst the stars! We love you!
